Change is Good

Could I be a bigger slacker? Probably not... don't get me wrong, I've actually been making some cards and projects (including some super cute, if I do say so myself, 3d items for/with my daughter) but I haven't taken photos of anything yet.

I at least snapped a couple of this card before I sent it to my Dad recently.

I just love Unity Stamp Co.'s stamps, and much like the toilet paper one I used awhile back I'd been waiting for the perfect chance to use this undie set, don't you just love when your friends/family are gracious enough to do something in their lives that let's you finally use an image you'd been waiting to use? So thanks for deciding to sell your house Dad <wink>

As with my last Unity card I opted to keep it simple, using Kraft cardstock and a touch of my favorite Chocolate Truffle Trendy Twine.

Thanks for looking, and I promise to post one of my BERRY cute projects soon!

Put the Lime in the Coconut...

Hi everyone! Time for another fun Trendy Twine project! I'm still shakin' it over here after making my last card and this time we're putting some lime in the coconut and shakin' it all up!!!

No seriously, I haven't been able to get that song out of my head for a week now, Lily (my 2yr old) is even running around singing it... who's up for midnight margaritas with me?

I decided to make a cute little gift box to go with my hula girl card, which I felt just had to included a 3d palm tree on top and some partying coconut crabs (side note, if you don't know what a coconut crab is do not google it.. trust me on this, they aren't as cute as my little guys here!)

We're featuring Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine this month (which means it's on sale, go buy some already!) but I couldn't stop there... I also used Chocolate Truffle (who's thinking about coconuts & chocolate now? I know I am LOL) on the coconuts & box lid, Twisted Lime on the banner, and some Blue Berry on the box base. I love how all the colors work together so well for my project!

The palm tree base is actually from a template I found online to make a carrot box, the top is a shape from the Silhouette store as are the crabs. A touch of Echo Park for the fish on the bottom (with a bit of glitter pen added of course).

Lastly, since the song was totally stuck in my head I had to use my new button machine to make a cute little 1" button embellishment too (more on that soon, I'm loving this machine)!

Remember that you have until the 31st to link up your beach themed project for the Trendy Twine Aug. Challenge (details HERE).

Until next time...

What's Shakin' with Trendy Twine

Woohoo, it's a new month and another fun challenge with Trendy Twine. This month we're featuring one of my favorites, the very versatile Krazy for Kraft twine. The theme is "just another day at the beach" and you can find details here Aug. Challenge. You can get your own spool of Krazy for Kraft on sale this month as well, while you're shopping be sure to check out all the gorgeous brand new twists too!

For my first project this month I've decided to make an adorable hula girl card, and what's a hula girl without her shake... so of course mine does the hula too!

I utilized both my Expression & Cameo for the cuts and a bit of print & cut too. The sandy beach is actual sand, I simply ran my cut through my xyron and sprinkled with sand. Of course the cutest part is her hula skirt. I braided a bit of twine and then glued a bunch of cut pieces of twine to the back... then I simply used my fingers to untwist the twine and fringe it out to give her a nice full skirt.

You'll notice she's not flat on the card, that's because she has to hula! I followed the directions of my Trendy Twine DT team member Becki from The Happy Card Encouragement Factory to make my own action wobble... you can view her directions HERE.
